bolsos berlin is a small Upcycling-brand in Berlin. As a solo entrepreneur I create accessories with advertising banners, used sails, event-materials and other "industrial" waste like offset-printing mats. In our (I share the space with an other upcycling-artist) Work-Shop in Berlin-Kreuzberg I create, develop, manufacture and sell one-of-a-kind bags, backpacks, wallets, hip bags, bike-panners...

About the practice
I've always been a maker, a crafter, an artist, a builder... in my first career stone and other sculpturing materials were my world. Since more than 17 years strong Upcycling-textiles are my inspiration. Advertisingbanners, sails, tents, event-textiles, fire-hose and other industrial-waste are the materials that I transform into little series of bags, backpacks, wallets, shoppers, hip bags, bike-panners, gymbags and much more. Everything started living in Barcelona (Spain) during my studies of sculpturing. Being an artist? yes! Living off art? no. Creating the world around me? yes! Producing more stuff?? Only if it's in a sustainable way! Back to Germany (Berlin) it got real. The first inspiring banners came 2008 from the Berlinale Filmfestival. Since then bolsos berlin keeps growing. For bigger commissions we are 2-3 persons working in manufacturing. Yes: we do b2b, that means, that we create, develop and produce little series with the used materials of the client. These can be companies, organizer, institutions, associations, NGOs, public organizations or foundations.
