About the practice
I'm a design researcher and practitioner focused on repair and mend. After 20+ years as a clothing designer, I pivoted to research the neglected, often forgotten side of fashion: mending. Repair is a critical part of designing for circularity, yet it's usually treated as something that happens at the end of a product's useful life rather than at the moment of design inception. I mend, and I study mending economies and the place-based practices that keep clothes in use and keep repair knowledge alive in communities.
