About the practice

SALVEDGE was founded by fashion designer and textile artist Madeleine Morgan in 2023. The brand was created to address the colossal impact that fast fashion and overconsumption is having on our planet and the people on it. Through bespoke upcycled pieces, SALVEDGE challenges consumer mindsets through exploring what makes each item of existing clothing unique. From construction and silhouette to rips, repairs and fading, the history of each piece matters and is an integral part of the SALVEDGE design process. SALVEDGE launched with a collection of Coffee Bean Sling Bags - each piece entirely unlike the last with adjustable d-ring straps and hand-printed labels. Through working as Chief Repairist and Upcycler for circular denim brand, White Weft, Madeleine gained a fascination with denim as a textile that fades and adapts with the wearer - a textile that embodies time. She applied this fascination to her own designs and developed signature details like the staggered pocket and unpicked hem as well as introducing new products like the SALVEDGE Pocket Bag and Coin Purse. In 2026 Madeleine began to explore a new textile, shirting, and the first piece of SALVEDGE apparel was launched: The Shift Shirt. Created from existing button-down work shirts, The Shift Shirt features a shifted asymmetric panel shaped by the contours of the original hem. Each Shift Shirt is a mirror of its past. The way it was designed, worn and cherished are all considered as the garment shifts into its new form. Each SALVEDGE piece is designed to celebrate the individual and to remind us of how special and personal our clothes can be if we take the time to wear and cherish them. The brand explores these themes through limited collections as well as creating bespoke custom pieces. Material remembers and celebrating those memories is what SALVEDGE is all about.
