About the practice

Omi & Co. is an independent slow-fashion label based in Gippsland, Victoria, Australia, founded and run by designer and maker Naomi Enright. Her practice centres on giving pre-loved materials a new lease on life. Thoughtfully designing apparel, accessories and leather goods from materials that already exist. Repurposed and reclaimed textiles sit at the heart of the brand - vintage fabrics, rescued woollen blankets, upcycled linen and responsibly sourced and pre-loved leather. Each material is selected for its character, quality and potential, with its previous life informing the design of the finished piece. Rather than working around a constant supply of new materials, Omi & Co. embraces the individuality and limitations of what is available, allowing the materials themselves to guide the creative process. Waste reduction is central to both design and production. Pieces are developed with careful consideration for the materials in use, finding ways to extend the life of resources that might otherwise go to landfill. Production takes place in small batches, with every piece designed and handcrafted by Naomi, from material selection and preparation through to cutting, construction and finishing. Omi & Co. is grounded in the belief that sustainability should be practical, considered and built into the way things are made. By prioritising craftsmanship, individuality and longevity over mass production, the brand creates distinctive pieces that celebrate the beauty of existing materials and encourage a more thoughtful relationship with what we wear and use.
