over the past decade, zero waste daniel has grown from an independent new york city label into a globally recognized voice in fashion and zero-waste design. collaborations and projects with disney, google, hellmann’s, thredUP, nuuly, and others have brought the brand’s work to new audiences and scales, while daniel and his work have been featured on cnn, the bbc, and good morning america and in publications including forbes, vogue, and the new york times. origins of the brand founded in 2016, zero waste daniel reached a global audience in 2017 when daniel’s story and approach to zero-waste design went viral, generating more than 35 million views worldwide through nowthis, insider, mashable, and buzzfeed. the attention helped introduce a new audience to the possibilities of zero-waste fashion and launched a larger conversation about how the industry values the materials it leaves behind. made in new york city each piece is designed and made in new york city using materials that already exist. fabrics are sorted, cut, arranged, and transformed by hand through techniques developed over nearly a decade of zero-waste design. from one-of-a-kind pieces to larger projects and collaborations, the process begins with the material and the possibilities found within it.
