About the practice
Mattimo — Giving vintage a second life Mattimo was born in Singapore in 2024, founded by Caroline Lahoud after 15 years working in the IT industry. Named after her two sons, Matt and Timo, the brand is a personal journey inspired by family, creativity and a lifelong love of vintage treasures. Much of Mattimo’s colourful and playful spirit comes from Caroline’s mother, a wonderfully creative, extravagant woman who has always embraced colour and individuality. Now living with Alzheimer’s disease, she remains a source of inspiration. Through Mattimo, Caroline celebrates her mother’s creativity and the joy of expressing yourself through what you wear. Mattimo focuses on sourcing authentic vintage clothing, particularly French military jackets, traditional bleu de travail workwear and other unique garments discovered in France and across Asia. Caroline believes that older garments often have a quality, character and craftsmanship that are difficult to find in today’s fast-fashion world. Rather than letting these pieces be forgotten, she gives them a new chapter. Working on a small scale, Caroline personally sources, selects and reimagines each piece, adding colourful trims, embroidery, vintage textiles, hand-painted details or unexpected touches while respecting the garment’s original character. No mass production, no identical collections. Each Mattimo creation is unique, carrying a little of its past into a new future. At its heart, Mattimo is about creativity, individuality and making more thoughtful choices about fashion — proving that something old can become something exciting and new again.
