About the practice
The KORE ReHub program is an outdoor gear repair initiative that's transforming how the outdoor industry approaches sustainability by helping to keep recreational equipment out of landfills. Phase One is the Re-Hub Repair Tour—a travelling workshop visiting communities across British Columbia’s Kootenay region in 2025 and 2026. Staffed by skilled technicians, the mobile unit offers free gear repairs, onsite industrial sewing, and community engagement at festivals and markets. In addition to helping reduce landfill waste, the tour also builds circularity awareness and lays the groundwork for localized repair skills and job creation. Phase Two is the establishment of a permanent Re-Hub facility at the College of the Rockies in Cranbrook, British Columbia, which will provide a repair services and resale hub, upcycling infrastructure, an industrial sewing training program, and a gear exchange. This facility will become a national model for gear reuse and renewal, supporting both environmental and economic sustainability. KORE Outdoors is actively developing partnerships with research institutions and funding organizations to scale this clean-growth initiative.
