Jackalo
Jackalo is a children's clothing brand rethinking what happens to textiles and garments after their first use. From transforming rescued denim into new clothing to repurposing production scraps, sourcing deadstock, repairing garments, and buying back outgrown clothes for resale, we're finding ways to keep materials in use and out of landfills.

About the practice
At Jackalo, we believe good clothes deserve more than one life. We're a children's clothing brand building circularity into the way we design, make, and sell clothes, with a particular focus on finding new uses for existing materials. Our award-winning **Broken In collection** is perhaps the most visible expression of that philosophy. Created in partnership with Bank & Vogue, the collection transforms rescued post-consumer denim into new children's clothing. We take denim that has already had a life and give it another, reimagining a familiar material as something entirely new. The collection recently won The Sustainability Award, recognizing the potential of creative reuse to make fashion less wasteful. But upcycling doesn't stop with one collection. We look for opportunities to use materials that already exist throughout our production process. We use leftover fabric and production scraps into accessories, turning materials that might otherwise be discarded into useful new products. We also source deadstock fabrics whenever possible, giving surplus materials a purpose rather than creating demand for new production. We're equally interested in extending the life of the clothes themselves. We offer repairs on Jackalo garments, helping families keep their favorite pieces in rotation longer. And when kids inevitably outgrow them, our TradeUP buy-back program gives those clothes another chance. We buy back pre-loved Jackalo pieces, assess their condition, make necessary repairs, and put them back up for sale so another child can enjoy them. It's all part of the same philosophy: waste is often just a resource waiting for a new purpose. Whether we're transforming discarded denim, finding creative uses for production scraps, giving deadstock fabric a second chance, or repairing and reselling a well-loved pair of pants, we're working to keep valuable materials in circulation. For us, circularity isn't a collection or a campaign. It's a different way of thinking about the entire lifecycle of clothing.
