About the practice
SLOE Design Studio was founded on the belief that clothing can hold a deeper, more personal connection. Based in Montréal, the studio creates romantic, vintage-inspired pieces for special occasions, designed to be worn, cared for and kept for years. Its name, S.L.O.E., stands for Simple silhouettes, Luxurious textiles, Original design, Eco-responsible practices. That philosophy shapes everything the studio makes: refined silhouettes, exceptional natural materials and a preference for responsible sourcing over overproduction. Under creative director Nancy Drummond-Hay, SLOE brings together an atelier background, a degree in fashion technology and more than 15 years of fine-tailoring experience. The studio works with Canadian artisans and places responsible sourcing, transparency and eco-design at the centre of its practice. SLOE’s garments blend new natural fabrics with reclaimed vintage accents, transforming forgotten threads into contemporary heirlooms. Alongside its original collections, the studio restores, alters and preserves vintage garments, extending the life of pieces that already exist.
