About the practice

ROZE is an independent British fashion brand founded by designer Rose Brown, based in North Wales. Bridging the worlds of streetwear, sportswear and British heritage, ROZE explores how reflective materials can be reimagined through innovative textile techniques, circular design and contemporary fashion. At the heart of the brand is a signature reflective tartan, created by stitching individual strips of reflective and conventional textiles into a distinctive grid. The technique draws inspiration from traditional British tartan while introducing an unexpected relationship between light, colour and visibility. Upcycling is an important part of ROZE's creative practice. Reclaimed garments, including vintage and surplus workwear, are transformed into contemporary pieces, while surplus and deadstock textiles are incorporated into experimental designs. By working with existing materials, ROZE explores ways to extend textile lifecycles and challenge conventional approaches to fashion production. ROZE also explores the potential of reflective fabrics beyond their traditional association with high-visibility workwear, introducing colour, craftsmanship and individuality into functional clothing. Through design, experimentation and educational content, ROZE advocates for more creative approaches to textile reuse, demonstrating how discarded and overlooked materials can become desirable, expressive fashion. The brand's philosophy is rooted in the idea of being seen, both literally and figuratively, celebrating individuality while encouraging a more thoughtful relationship with the clothes we wear.
