YEAH RIGHT!! is a Japanese remake brand founded in 2005 by designers Keita Kawamura and Michiko Imura. Working through its flagship store and online platform here, the brand deconstructs carefully selected used garments and domestic textiles, then reassembles them into distinctive, often one-of-a-kind clothing. Its practice combines remake design, repair, collaborative projects and a long-running exploration of how clothes carry relationships and memory.

About the practice
YEAH RIGHT!! began making collections from used items in 2005. Rather than treating secondhand clothing as anonymous raw material, the brand selects individual pieces, washes, deconstructs, cuts and resews them into new garments. Even when multiple pieces share the same silhouette, no two are identical because each begins with different pre-existing fabrics. The brand’s work is closely connected to Japanese remake culture and to ideas of repair, reuse and relational making. Its long-running Tablecloth series reworks domestic textiles into wide trousers and other garments, while other collections combine used scarves, slips, sweatshirts, denim and wool melton into layered, unconventional silhouettes. here is YEAH RIGHT!!’s flagship shop and online store, created to present the brand’s more intensive remake work—pieces that cannot be made on a mass-production basis. It also houses the RE:LIGHT project, which remakes unsold inventory from brands and shops and offers customers a route to have their own personal garments remade. Through projects, publications and collaborations, YEAH RIGHT!! frames making as a cycle of “making, mending and passing on.” Its practice extends beyond product design into archives, photography, workshops and collaborations that explore the social and emotional life of clothing.
